Do you ever feel the need to escape for a moment? Ever feel like you need to get out of town for a while? Add San Diego to your bucket list and read further on why taking a solo trip to San Diego is worth it. Taking solo trips, even if it’s just booking a hotel room in the downtown city jungle or in the outskirts of a major metropolitan area, is one of the most rejuvenating, empowering and self-worthwhile things you can do for yourself. There’s something about taking the moment to relax, breathe and recharge, especially us ladies, who love to take on challenges and exceed the work/life balance.

San Diego is one of the dreamiest cities one can visit, it’s full of exciting energy, the sun kissing your face, the eatery is just wonderful and just so much activity to do. San Diego has much to offer- cultural and art museums (i.e. Balboa Park was beautiful), the beaches; La Jolla is a must see. Coronado Beach is beautiful when you get to catch the sunset. The drive over the Coronado Bridge has an amazing nearly 360 degree view of the Pacific Ocean as well as a view of naval base. Or if you are looking to go further out of the city, Imperial Beach, right near the border of Tijuana, Mexico was serene and quiet.

Oh and the eatery! From Mexican tacos to dreamy Italian to fresh seafood, the eatery all over San Diego was an experience in and of itself. In La Jolla, the tacos from Puesto were absolutely delicious, not to mention the fun atmosphere. Head to downtown San Diego and venture into Little Italy where Bencotto, a hip Italian restaurant, served one of the most delicious plates of pasta, just the right amount to fit in dessert. Go further down south to visit Brigantine. This restaurant is located on the pier in Seaport Village, San Diego. From recommendations, the fresh seafood right by the pier is amazing and a must-visit, must-try!

Traveling by yourself can be, in a way, scary, yet exhilarating. I think traveling solo can also provide a sense of worthiness, self-empowerment, as you are truly doing things on your own time. It allows for one to be confident and independent. So try it out sometime, even if it’s just a weekend to discover little things about yourself or recharge or even challenge yourself. On that note, always remember to be bold, even when trying new things out!
