Dress To Impress For Any Occassion
You get that invitation in the mail, you finally land that dream job interview, or he finally popped the question to your best friend and now it’s time to celebrate. The question on most of our minds is: "What am I going to wear?" This can be a daunting task, but read on and hopefully get inspired for your next big event.
When attending a special ceremony like a baptism or Bar Mitzvah, you want to lean towards a more simple dress or a tailored suit with simple jewelry and a nice pair of heels.
Black-tie weddings or galas are the perfect occasion to get out that shimmery gown with that beautiful detailing. To be on the safe side, when opting for a gown, make sure it is floor length or almost there.
An engagement party and most weddings usually call for the “cocktail attire”. A little black dress could go a long way. If the event is a little more laid-back, you could go for a tailored pant with a nice blouse so you are looking the part, but feeling comfortable.
Holiday and dinner parties are more festive occasions. You can definitely push the boundary with glitz and glamour. Try that new statement necklace or those bold and beautiful earrings you have been dying to wear. Anything really works in these settings. Go for a fun dress or a nice sweater and cute midi skirt.
Outdoor events and weddings call for flowy sundresses and maxi dresses. Typically if it is outside, the season is most likely spring or summer and the weather is going to be a bit warmer. I say sticking to more colorful and lighter pieces are going to fit right in.
Bridal and baby showers are perfect for a cute feminine dress, a printed skirt and sweater pairing, or a pair of fun pants and top are all great options. I recommend heels if this occasion is a bit more dressed up and flats if you are gathering at someone’s home and mingling in the garden. If it is a bridal shower, double check with the bride before wearing white because it is her day after all.
Finally, the job interview. Think professional and appropriate. Pumps and a tailored suit are going to be your best friend. If you are opting for a black or grey dress, that also works as long as it’s an appropriate length. The key here is to make sure you are comfortable but still showing the interviewer you know what you are doing.
