Modern Day Wife had the opportunity to interview Nicole Garrett of Under Pressure Hyperbarics. Read below to find out more!

What inspired you to start your own business, and how has that initial inspiration evolved as your company has grown?

I was looking to bring medical grade hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the public. Historically it has only been offered in hospitals for a very narrow set of indications. We can offer the same high grade treatment to the public to treat a wider array of indications at a much more affordable price. As we have grown we have expanded our service lines to include things such as peptides, supplements, IV's and comprehensive blood panels to optimize healing and aging on a cellular level.

What are some of the biggest challenges you've faced as an entrepreneur, and how have you overcome them?

Staffing. Finding the right people who share you vision can be challenging. Los Angeles is a very fast paced city and we had to work to find the right people who will slow down and really listen to our patient's needs.

Can you share a pivotal moment or decision that significantly impacted the trajectory of your business?

Covid. We opened 3 weeks before shut down. It was such an uncertain time and extremely challenging for a brand new business. It forced us to be really innovative to survive. Through that we persevered, and even expanded in 2021. We are set to open our second center later this year.

In today's rapidly changing market landscape, how do you stay innovative and adaptable to ensure your business remains competitive?

We will not sacrifice integrity. Our patients know they are getting medical grade treatments from well trained and certified staff, certified equipment and medical supervision. In our market there are a growing number of facilities opening mild hyperbaric facilities using untrained staff, un-certified equipment and completely lacking medical supervision while still promising the same results. Patients who come to us know exactly what they are getting and that the experience they will receive.

What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs who are just starting their own journey?

Just start. You are never going to feel ready—you just have to rip off the band aid and take the leap.
