The Importance of Checking In
If you are reading this and you are 21 and over, I really hope you have paid a visit to your gynecologist at least once by now. I know this is not the most glamorous and exciting topic, but it is so important to look out for your health!
We have a lot of responsibilities as women especially once we start our cycles. We have to make sure these cycles are on a somewhat consistent schedule. We have to make sure the symptoms we are feeling are not too extreme otherwise it could be an indication that something else is happening.
On top of experiencing copious amounts of pain every month (for most of us), we also get to go through a series of emotions that can be hard to explain unless you are talking to another woman. That is why I highly encourage all of my friends to make that appointment. Even if you feel healthy, sometimes our bodies don’t tell us something is wrong or could be in the future.
And going to the doctor is not only beneficial for your physical health but it also helps with feeling at ease. There is no better feeling than having a peace of mind knowing you checked in with yourself.
I know it can be easy to brush it aside because you feel healthy, but talk to your mom, sister, best friend, girlfriend, or any other woman you may be close with and they will encourage you to do the same thing. We all have to grow old and experience things we don’t want to, but checking in will make you feel so much better!
