How did Beauty Inc come about?
I started Beauty Inc Canada when I noticed that we were lacking good education in the beauty industry and a good product. Most products in Canada are simply white labeled and come from the same factory in Asia. Sadly in Canada, we are totally unregulated when it comes to beauty instruction and products. I found the training I received here was completely basic and incomplete. I paid top dollar for my education here, and when I went to the UK to receive training and bring the product back to Canada I was embarrassed at my own lack of knowledge. That came from the sub par education I received here.

At what point did you know you wanted to work in the beauty industry? Was this something you were always passionate about?
I knew I loved working with people, I love educating, I love making people feel good and I saw a need for something better, and I wanted to provide that to Canadians

What keeps you going? How do you stay motivated to educate others in the beauty industry?
I think what keeps me going in a very very competitive market is my desire to give real advise to real people. I don’t pretend to know everything, I keep it real and I give the best I can to every student and customer.

What is the most challenging part of your job?
Currently the Covid 19 restrictions that keep telling our industry that we are not essential. Beyond that is working in Canada to be honest. Canada isn’t an easy place to be an entrepreneur. Our dollar trades poorly on the global market and we are heavily taxes as business owners. Trying to provide a high level of product and a high level of training is made more difficult in Canada, hence why most companies import from China, and that is the “standard” Canadians are expected to accept

What are 3 attributes someone would need to be successful in this industry?
Grit, Determination, and the ability to give great customer service

What’s next for Beauty Inc? Do you have any exciting things planned that you could share with us?
We work closely with both the UK head office and the distributor in the USA. We always have new products launching, some new education platforms for both students and educators. The brand is growing rapidly, and we are excited to be a part of it all, and be a huge part of the start of it all.
