In light of our IT Box "Make a Splash" launch, we are introducing you to the IT Women of 2022 who are "Making a Splash" in their communities. Meet motivational speaker and fashion enthusiast, Caroline Baudino. She is all about spreading positivity and lifting up other women. We interviewed Caroline to learn more about who she is and why she dedicates her time to helping women achieve the best version of themselves. If you're in need of motivation or a reminder of how great you are, give this Q & A a read.
Can you share with us a little bit about who you are (what you’re passionate about, what you like to do) and what you are doing right now in your career?
My name is Caroline Baudino from @Shop.With.Caroline and the blog Being Caroline. My sole purpose on these platforms is to spread kindness and positivity. I believe in the power of Getting Up and Getting Dressed. My greatest passion is to remind women, moms, wives, and daughters that they are suppose to be happy TOO! I am a motivational speaker who uses fashion as tool to look good so I feel good then I go out that door and do good! Look Good. Feel Good. Do Good.
How do you think fashion affects your mindset or inner self? Can you tell us a bit about your tagline “Look good. Feel good. Do good.” as well as how you initially got into fashion as a mom?
I noticed as I became a mother at 38 and 40 that I started to lose myself in the everyday of motherhood—the good, the bad, and the ugly. I started to let myself go and not make myself a priority. I have always been a huge fashion lover because I believe how you look says something about how you feel! With that being said, as a mom, wife, and daughter to elderly parents, I had forgotten about me and it didn’t feel good. I walked past a mirror one day 3 years ago and didn’t recognize myself. I kinda looked like a wreck and felt like a wreck, overwhelmed with anxiety, menopause, and truthfully boredom, and I knew I had to make a change! I wanted to bring Caroline back and be the best version of me again because I knew I was meant to be happy too! Fashion to me is a happy tool I use to remind myself to make myself a priority and take time to reflect, be grateful, and live my best life.
When and how did you take the first step in pursuing your dreams or what you want? Did you always know what you wanted to do or who you wanted to be?
One day 3 years ago, I started posting pictures of my outfits like everyone was and I would get asked constantly about my looks—but when the pandemic hit and my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and my mother completely fell apart, I decided to share my life on Instagram and from there my brutal honesty and zero-bullshit attitude made my purpose take off. It was so freeing to not have to live up to anyone else’s idea of perfection but my own!
What are your future goals for your career and personal life? Do you have any plans for the rest of 2022?
My goals are to write a book and to speak on as many stages as possible to inspire women to make the changes and bet on themselves! I hope to one day have a talk show or podcast or tell Tony Robbins to move over. I have big dreams and plan to accomplish them all with hard work and manifestation!
What is the message that you want to leave with other women?
My message is clear: I believe women sell themselves short and don’t live out their own dreams by trying to please everyone else. My mission is to remind women that they are beautiful, smart, kind, strong, capable, and can do difficult things! I want women to bring back the best version of themselves because she is there and wants to live her best life TOO.
