Makeup Looks That Feel Right For You
Much like the clothing we choose to put on, makeup is a great expression of individuality. There are so many different products to choose from when it comes to makeup. When you think about it, putting "artists" after the word "makeup" is so on point. Makeup artists truly are creating art from the types of brushes they use, the eyeshadow looks they create, and the many different ways in which they make a full face of makeup look so flawless.
Personally, my daily makeup routine tends to be more natural. I tend to go for concealer, highlighter, blush, and some mascara. After doing this basic routine, I already feel so much more together for the day. With a natural look, there is always the potential to build onto it as well. Maybe you are going out in the evening or need to look a little more dressed up for an event. Starting with a few simple products and adding on is always the way to go.
Eyeshadow is always a great way to add some color and drama to a simple look. My favorite eyeshadow palettes at the moment are Morphe 35XO which consists of pink and brown shades, and the Naked Honey palette which includes a lot of gold and browns to create a more dramatic look.
If eyeshadow isn’t your forte, I know people who love focusing on bronzer and contouring, creating that more defined and dramatic look. Bronzer is also a great way to add a little warmth to the face especially if it’s winter and you haven’t spent a lot of time in the sun.
I know a lot of my friends’ concerns with makeup is the feeling of having too much product on your face. A great alternative to foundation would be tinted moisturizer. You are getting that coverage for your skin but it feels so light and comfortable on the skin. I am currently using the Laura Mercier Oil Free tinted moisturizer and I love it. I honestly don’t feel like I am wearing anything, but I do notice my dark spots getting blurred.
Makeup is going to be a unique experience for every individual. You can put on and build a dramatic look or you can stick with few simple products and still look put together. I believe that makeup is a great form of self-expression and you should wear it as much or as little as you want.
